Homework with Mom

Greetings to all.

At last, we got a snow storm that left enough snow to test the repairs to our snow thrower. Xavier helped disassemble the thrower and put it back together.

We tested it as much as one could without snow by firing it up and verifying the augers turned (which was the problem: the worm gear had worn out).

So, yesterday morning after breakfast, Xavier and I suited up and headed out. Xavier armed himself with his snow shovel and I fired up the thrower. Together, we did our driveway and sidewalks, two neighbors' driveways and walks and the walk from the second neighbor's driveway around to ours.

Afterward, Xavier needed to catch up on his school work. In the afternoon, he found Rebecca keeping warm in bed as she worked remotely.

With a lap tray, he crawled into bed with mom and pretended to work at home as well. (It took some coaching to get him to actually finish his school work; he was a little under-motivated).

Today, the sun shone down through partly clearing skies. To Xavier, that meant melting snow and snowmen! The melting snow meant water to play in and slush to make.
