Xavier's Great Aunt Lynn

Greetings to all.

Xavier's Aunt Lynn and Uncle Don spent the weekend with us. It's been two years since we saw them last, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This year, they were driving to Sacramento, California, but stopping along the way to visit family.

Rebecca cooked for several days prior to their arrival. She prepared four Ethiopian dishes to serve their first night here.

Aunt Lynn mentioned she wanted to make home-made Play Dough with Xavier. She had a recipe much different than the salt dough I grew up making. Xavier looked forward to the dough for a week.

He did not get to make it the first night of their visit. He did complain about not making it, but we assured him he would get to make some play dough.

Sunday morning was a lazy morning; everyone slept in late—at least those whom Xavier could not wake up at 0730. Aunt Chelle came down from Fort Collins, then we all went to Denver's Union Station to have brunch. Rebecca visited Union Station earlier in the week and saw how much it has been cleaned up. "Gentrified" is the word we hear a lot in the Denver Metro area, and Union Station has been gentrified!

After brunch, we let Xavier run in the splash pad area where much of the city seems to bring their kids to do the same. A light dinner, then the play dough! Xavier was not disappointed. Dad dug out several plastic sculpting tools he has had since he was a boy. Great Aunt Lynn, Aunt Chelle and Xavier had a fun time together.
