We Just Went Out For Light Bulbs

Greetings to everyone.

It started with one of the lights in the front carriage lamp burning out. An odd CFL bulb, Xavier and I thought "Let's go straight to Ace Hardware so we can by-pass not finding so odd a bulb at Home Depot."

Outside the store, Ace had three stacks of plastic wading pools: small, medium and large. Having fond childhood memories of such pools, I knew more money than planned would get spent on this trip.

We bought the small size. Under ten dollars, I remember the big ones being under ten dollars when I was a boy. We often bought two a season, the second one after the Duct Tape patching holes in the first could no longer contain the water.

We loaded the pool into the back of the 90 and home we went. Xavier got into his new swim trunks and sun shirt, and ran into the yard to help fill his pool!

Today was in the mid 80s, so soaking in cold water was the thing to do. Of course, Xavier had to work up to the soak. Unsure about sitting (much less laying) in the water, he played around outside the pool by filling squirt guns and splashing bugs.

In the end, after several ups and downs as he grew used to the feel of increasingly soaked clothing, he enjoyed his first "Calgon" experience.
